Affidavit
In the matter of claim for pension of Sarah M.
Stewart widow of Abijah Stewart Co. E. 1st
Tenn Arty.
On this 28 day of April A.D. 1891, personally appeared
before here an office in and for the hereinafter
named County and State, duly authorized to administer
oaths, Susan Williams aged 58 years, a resident
of [Ritchie?] in the County of [Newton?] and the
State of Mo whose Post Office address is [Ritchie?]
and James A. Williams aged 57 years, a resident
of [Ritchie?] in the County of [Newton?]

We were each formally acquainted Abijah Stewart
from his boyhood and know that he never was married
but once and that was to Sarah M. Morrison who
is yet his widow and dependant on her own labor
washing for a living.
We also know of our knowledge that his wife had
never been married before and has not again married
and that she has not abandoned her children as
they are such his ??
We further declare that we have no interest in
said case and are not concerned in its prosecution.
