| A. B. Cummings was born July 26, 1825, in Greene County, Tenn., and departed this life, April 2, 1897, about 11 P. M., at the advanced age of 71 years, 8 months and 8 days. He was first united in marriage to Harriet Hale, June 16, 1857, who died May 16, 1860. Two children were born to them, one of which is dead. On July 30, 1865, he again married Jennie Stewart, and of this union seven children were born, two of who are gone before, leaving six children with his second wife to mourn his death. The funeral services were held at the residence by the writer (I. N. Kimbrough), and the Masons took charge and held a service at the grave in the new cemetery, in the afternoon of April 3rd. - Herald & Tribune, Jonesboro, Washington Co., TN, Wed.
